CYS understands that transitioning into the ILP program can be exciting and terrifying; both challenging and comforting- we are here to help you make these steps one at a time.  CYS assesses each prospective young adult on a case by case basis taking into account their unique challenges, needs and goals.  CYS individualized approach to independent living allows us to work with young adults whom face with mild to moderate varying issues as describe below:  ​

​Admission criteria​

• Young adults must be at least 18 -21 years of age and have elected to participate in the program

• Young adults must be employed at least part time (30 hours a week) or attending school  and working a minimum of 20 hours per week.

• Young adults must complete entire CYS application packet and interview

• Willing to complete a mental health assessment;

• Willing to submit to a criminal background check;

• CYS will notify admittance or denial admission within three business days of a completed application.
